Sand hills graded flat and sea wall constructed, but the United Railroads powerhouse and landmark chimney (constructed 1902) not in evidence. Steam shovel-like machine near Fontana Warehouse may be one of the bucket conveyor excavators that devoured the sand hills. (BB)
