Noe near Beaver

This house was built in 1883 as 224 Noe for Frank H. Merrill, a post office clerk. Some time before 1893 it was raised and a new first story was built underneath it, making it a two-story house; and later still it was raised again to build a store underneath it. At an unknown date a bay window was added at left to match the original. The building still stands, now numbered 262-264 Noe. The house next door at 258-262 also still stands, with an altered facade.
