Smith, deacon of the Plymouth Congregational Church and publisher of the Pacific. In 1895, it became the Pierce Street Congregational Church. Large mansion at southwest corner of Pierce and Union was built circa 1884 by wealthy attorney and landowner David Bixler. Four story windmill and water tank across Union.
