Post-earthquake view of Marshall Square and the Pioneer (James Lick) Monument at corner of Hyde and Grove Streets. View northerly toward the Hall of Records. Hall of Records demolished late 1916-early 1917. This shows the east wing of the old city hall (with brick tower removed as hazard) which was reduced in height, rehabbed and used for offices until about 1914
