Originally constructed as the Fine Arts Building for 1894 Midwinter Fair, it was renamed Memorial Museum in 1895 and eventually became part of de Young Museum. Building at left is east wing of new museum completed in 1919. 'Apple Cider Press' statue by Thomas Shields Clarke and turtle sundial (by M. Earl Cummings) installed October 1907 at far left.
