Unknown Parade, men on horseback, Possibly Admission Day
View southeast on Columbus (then Montgomery Ave.) to Admission Day parade, with oxen pulling covered wagon. Montgomery Block in background. As described by the Daily Alta California: "[Native Sons of the Golden West] Mt. Tamalpais Parlor, No. 64, of San Rafael, had an old wagon - drawn by two oxen, such as was used by emigrants on the plains forty years ago. It was an ancient-looking affair and was weather-beaten and torn. Out of the split in the canvas in front there occasionally appeared the head and face of a woman having in her mouth an old, clay pipe. The members had a handsome banner and wore white hats and white jackets."
