California Wire Works was established in 1852 and acquired by Andrew Hallidie in 1876. In 1895 Hallidie sold out to Washburn and Moen Company. This was Hallidie's business office, at 6 California St., and the manufacturing was in North Beach. H. P. Gregory & Co., Pacific Machinery Depot; Berry & Place Machine Co.
