Rincon Hill, View northeast across intersection to Sailors' Home on corner of Harrison and Main Sts. Children posed on corner, long stairway to hospital from street. Large sign above entrance says 'Welcome Sailors Home.' [174] (Originally built as U.S.Marine Hospital in 1853 but later moved to the Presidio in 1875. This large building then became a sailor's boarding home operated by the Ladies' Seaman's Friend Society.)
