The derelict riverboat 'Fort Sutter' beached at east end of Aquatic Park. Coit Tower, Telegraph Hill in the background. View from the Municipal Pier. Entrepreneur Barney Gould purchased the old riverboat and brought it to Aquatic Park in February 1953 with hopes to convert it into a showboat. It was beached at the east end of Aquatic Park near the rowing clubs. The boat was later moved to west end of beach where it burned on May 1, 1959.
