The crash instantly killed firefighter Joseph B. Cuff, married with 5 sons, and injured 5 other firefighters and the truck driver. The truck driver was tried for misdemeanor manslaughter but was acquitted claiming he did not hear the siren or air horn. SF Chronicle July 13, 1962 and March 6, 1963.]
