Sir Francis Drake and St. Francis Hotel (before construction of 32 story tower that began in early 1969) at left, Hilton Union Square Hotel at far right opened in 1964. Architect - William B. Tabler, Sr. It has since been extensively remodeled with a different facade. Beyond Hilton is David Hewes building with modern cladding.
