Gjoa Expedition Interpretive Sign detailing the trip through the northwest passage and restoration in 1949. Roald Amundsen's ship Gjoa was placed just north of the Beach Chalet in Golden Gate Park from 1909 until 1972 when she was returned to Norway.

Depot for Powell Street Railroad/ Ferries & Cliff House Railroad steam trains. Building still there at GG Park entrance. This was the last station that served steam trains, built and opened in 1890. Went out of commission in 1894 because of the Midwinter Exposition world's fair.

Memorial Museum

View west toward collapsed east wall of the Memorial Museum in Golden Gate Park, after 1906 earthquake. Originally constructed as the Fine Arts Building for 1894 Midwinter Fair, it was renamed Memorial Museum in 1895 and eventually became part of de Young Museum. The building was repaired and later demolished in 1929.
