Built in 1907 as the Hotel Bellevue on the site of the pre-earthquake and fire Hotel Aiglon. Before that the El Monte Hotel, The Lyndhurst, and The Hollenbeck, and also the site of a small pre-earthquake and fire alley, Geary Place, that ran south from Geary Street half a block to a dead end, to four small attached houses on the west side of the alley.(PF)
