The tall building in the center of the photo was located on the north side of 23rd Street between the present-day former PG&E Station A structure and the Potrero Power Plant, and was demolished in the 1990s. Lots of smoke from the chimneys. Warm Water Cove at center, note the small boat.

View northeasst to fishing boats moored in boat basin. Freighter 'Philippine Bear' tied up at Pier 45 in background. The ship had been built as a U.S. Navy freighter, USS Townsend, 19 1944, but was decommissioned and sold to Pacific Far East Lines in September, 1947 and renamed SS Philippine Bear.
