Elevated view west to wreck of freighter SS Ohioan at Point Lobos, crowd standing on top of dead sperm whale on beach at lower right. The whale washed ashore on February 11, 1938 and was towed to a tallow plant on Islais Creek on February 16th. The Ohioan was shipwrecked in 1937, and by this time had broken apart due to wave action.
