Richmond OuterWrecked South Sea Islanders on Cliff House Balcony. The British coal ship Respigadera went aground near San Pedro harbor on September 26, 1888. It had rescued a group of Gilbert Islanders before it was wrecked. In October, 1888, the islanders put on some swimming exhibitions at the Cliff House before leaving San Francisco.
