Financial DistrictAs part of 17th commemoration of '06 fire, firefighters tested standpipes on the roof of the Standard Oil Building, then the tallest structure in San Francisco. The standpipes were connected to the High Pressure Auxiliary Water System built after the 1906 fire. They demonstrated that they could shoot water 400 feet, or 70 feet higher than the building.[Firefighters posing at Standard Oil Building dpwbook32 dpw8640]
