Toland Medical School and Home for the Inebriate in distance left. Taken on or after April, 1869 when landscaping of Washington Square was completed. The octagonal house at the left, one of five in the city, was built in 1859 for Arden Ellis, a laborer, at the NW corner of Lombard and Leavenworth.(WMK) Same original image as wnp24.0071a, with significantly more image on left and less on right.
