The big brick structure in the middle right is Dashaway Hall with its front on Post between Kearny and Dupont (now Grant), and its rear on Morton Street (Maiden Lane). White building to right of Temple Emanu-el with gables and veranda, at northwest corner of Sutter & Stockton, was the mansion of pioneer physician Augustus J. Bowie until 1871, when it was converted to a theatre and beer garden, the Vienna Garden. It was demolished in 1892. Also the home of Judge Burritt and banker Lucien Herman Duplicate of WNP37.00678.
