City expects to salvage many usable parts from these cars to put new cars together." The 1943 effort failed, but one in May, 1944 was successful and Muni and Market St. Railway merged on September 29, 1944. Visible in front are MSRy cars #795, #896, #839, #894, #787 and #848, scrapped in 1946.
