The Alhambra was built as the Republican Wigwam in 1890, and was remodeled into the Alhambra Theater in 1899. The four-story brick building down the block is The Lexington lodging house at 212-214 Eddy, built in 1893. The six-story brick building across Eddy Street from The Lexington is another lodging house, The Colonnade, at 219 Eddy, built in 1905. (PF)

The line was extended to Central (now Presidio) Avenue from Fillmore on May 30, 1879. The car reads Kearny, Polk, and Fillmore, which would date this image to close to the time of the extension.
