South of MarketDepot for Powell Street Railroad/ Ferries & Cliff House Railroad steam trains. Building still there at GG Park entrance. This was the last station that served steam trains, built and opened in 1890. Went out of commission in 1894 because of the Midwinter Exposition world's fair.
Golden Gate Park[DPW 1567] View north toward Bernal Heights, The aqueduct is a 44" pipe built by the Spring Valley Water Co. in the late 1800's. It carries water from the Crystal Springs Reservoir in San Mateo County to San Francisco via the University Mound reservoir. The trestle was built by the Ocean Shore Railway Co. in 1906, and was filled in 1914-15. Alemany Blvd. now runs along the alignment of the trestle
