View from Russian Hill

View northwest past SF Gas Building, Fontana Warehouse. Harbor View Resorts roughly where Palace of Fine Arts was later built. Sand hills graded flat and sea wall constructed, but the United Railroads powerhouse and landmark chimney (constructed 1902) not in evidence. Steam shovel-like machine near Fontana Warehouse may be one of the bucket conveyor excavators that devoured the sand hills. (BB)
