View across intersection to northeast corner, First United Presbyterian Church. Banner over entrance reads '16th International Convention Junior & Intermediate Christian Endeavor Headquarters.' Built in 1873 on Tyler Street (now Golden Gate Avenue) between Taylor and Jones as the octagon-shaped Central Presbyterian Tabernacle. In 1883 the building was moved four blocks west on Golden Gate to the location here and was heavily remodeled. The octagonal shape is here visible only along the roof lines.
