[California Hotel - Bush St. April 21, 1905] Elevated view northwest across intersection. An electric sign above the theater entrance advertises the residency of prominent actress Margaret Anglin. The hotel's chimney fell through the roof of the fire station (to the right of hotel in this photo), mortally injuring Chief D.J. Sullivan on the morning of the 1906 earthquake.
