Portola Festival Parade, the commemoration of Portola 'discovering' SF Bay in 1769, and the 400th anniversary of Balboa 'discovering' the Pacific Ocean in 1513, so there is a lot of mixed imagery. The marching women were the 'Pages' of Queen Conchita, Oct. 22, 1913. (JF) Young women march four abreast in white uniforms past the St. Francis Hotel and a large group of sailors.
