Building on right originally constructed as the Fine Arts Building for 1894 Midwinter Fair, it was renamed Memorial Museum in 1895 and eventually became part of de Young Museum. Small building just to left was originally the Royal Bavarian Pavilion at the 1894 Fair. It was converted into an annex to the Memorial Museum in 1895. They were demolished in 1929. Newer museum structures on left date from 1922 and 1919.

Golden Gate ParkGolden Gate Park, Maxwell car on promotional Coast to Coast Tour in front of Amundsen's Gjoa. Roald Amundsen's Gjoa was the first ship through the northwest passage in 1906. Donated to San Francisco, she was displayed at the west end of Golden Gate Park from 1909 to 1972, when she was returned to Norway.
