1906 Earthquake and Fire, [Sailor's Home on Rincon Hill, erected in the '50s May 10, 1906.] North side of Harrison between Spear and Main. Horse drawn wagon in street. Tents pitched in yard at left. [F810 EF-141] (GGNRA/Behrman GOGA 35346) (The U.S.Marine Hospital opened in 1853 but later moved to the Presidio in 1875. This large building then became a sailor's boarding home operated by the Ladies' Seaman's Friend Society.)
