Dedication of Alice Fong Yu Alternative School, 1541 12th Avenue between Kirkham and Lawton. Alice Fong Yu became SF's first Chinese-American Teacher in 1926 at Commodore Stockton School. [Master of Ceremonies Emerald Yee from KRON makes an announcement last Saturday as Alice Fong Yu (in wheelchair) and her son (behind her) look on. The ceremony was for the opening of The Alice Fong Yu School at the former Columbus Elementary which is a Chinese immersion program.]
