Elevated view looking east from Buchanan St. across graded site of future Marina Safeway. Fort Mason in background. The area now called the Great Meadow is covered with military buildings and streets. The large dark patch is the shadow of the towering gas storage tank (a 'gasometer') that stood at the corner of Bay and Laguna. (very similar to wnp100.20013)
