Two boys posed in front of Beniamino (Benny) Bufano's Peace statue. Dedicated in 1958, the statue remained at the airport until construction of new parking garage in 1996 forced its relocation to Brotherhood Way. (An African-American Family Slides, Roll 2)

Broadway near Powell

Jean Parker School, 840 Broadway, north side between Mason and Powell. The building has been replaced by a new one, but the arched entrance at center was retained and incorporated into the new structure. Jean Parker was the principal at The Broadway School from 1880 to 1901. When she retired, the school was renamed for her. [dpwbook7 dpw1664]
