City Hall viewed northwest across Market from intersection of Grove, Market and Hyde Streets. Pioneer Monument (Lick Monument) at right. Welcome Home Victory Monument (1919-1924) in center. California State Building (later Earl Warren Building) under construction in background right. In 1993, the monument was moved to the pedestrian mall on Fulton Street between the Asian Art Museum and the new Main Library.
