Shafter near Hawes

Passenger train on railroad right of way between Shafter and Revere just east of Hawes, most likely carrying workers for Hunters Point Shipyard. Temporary passenger rail service was run from the Hunters Point shipyard to connect with Southern Pacific trains during World War 2. Hunters Point with worker housing in background.
