View West on Geary near Taylor. At right, the Maryland Hotel built in 1912 by architects Righetti & Headman. On the far right corner is the Geary-Taylor Apartment Hotel, built in 1920 and marked as the site of the birthplace of dancer Isadora Duncan. At left, the Hotel Bellevue, which opened in August 1910, designed by architect and engineer S. H. Woodruff for the Barron Estate Company. The El Cortez Hotel was built in 1929 by architect Douglas D. Stone.
