Part 6 of a 7-part panoramic view from Oakland City Hall. View southeast from near junction of 14th, Broadway, and San Pablo at lower left. Grand Central Hotel (12th St. between Franklin & Webster) is large building with tower in center distance, burned March 9, 1880. At lower right corner, James Hutchinson Nursery, Floral and Seed Depot, southeast corner 14th and Washington. J.J. O'Brien Dry Goods, southwest corner 13th and Broadway. 14th street not yet cut through to Broadway.

Note from Bancroft site: "This collection consists of a portfolio containing a panorama photograph, divided into 7 photoprints, hinged together. The photograph was taken from San Pablo and 14th Streets in Oakland, California, circa 1879. The photographer was Albert H. Wulzen. The following is the text from a note on the inner front cover of the album from J. C. Rowell, a University of California librarian: "The date of this Panorama is approximately fixed as 1879. Albert H. Wulzen's name first appears in an Oakland directory of 1878-79. The Grand Central Hotel, located on Twelfth St., between Franklin and Webster Sts., was burned March 9, 1880.
