Miramar & Wildwood

Westwood Park, 598 Miramar, The Chronicle House. Built over 11 weeks in early 1922. 598 Miramar was the grand prize in the SF Chronicle newspaper's 'Prize Campaign', a subscription drive in which 'nominees'competed for 'votes'awarded by new newspaper subscriptions. The winner was Russell Wilson of Palo Alto.

Ocean Beach

Debris of wrecked steam schooner Yosemite. View north. The Yosemite ran aground near Point Reyes on February 7, 1926 then tore free while being towed back to San Francisco. The wreckage washed up on Ocean Beach, damaging the Lurline Pier in the process.
