Opening Day of Golden Gate Bridge. Elevated view of log cutting contest, 3 woodsmen cut 34 inch redwood logs symbolizing end of barrier to Redwood Empire. Contestants were Paul Searles, Longview, Wash., winner of Pacific Logging Congress title; Myron Higbee, Kellogg, Idaho, champion.
