Golden Gate Park. View south to Spreckels Temple of Music / Band Stand. Leonidas statue (aka Roman Gladiator) by Willem Geefs, 1881 at left. Exhibited at the 1894 Midwinter Fair, later moved to where M.H. de Young turned the first spade of dirt to begin construction of the fair. Spreckels Music Stand in background.
