View north across Market to Admission Day Parade, Soldiers at attention, Mark Strouse Bay City Market (1138 Market, then between Taylor and Turk), people on rooftops and leaning from windows, soldier on horse The Bay City Market was first opened at this location from about 1875 to the earthquake and fire, re-opening on Van Ness and then on Hayes and Octavia until it returned to its original block from about 1909 to 1920. It was next at 19-25 Mason between Turk and Eddy from 1921 to 1922, then across Market Street to its last location at 945 Market to 1940. (PF)
