View southeeast across Columbus. Italian Popular Bank (Fugazi Banca Popolare Operaia Italiana) building (built 1908) at gore between Columbus (then Montgomery Ave.), Washington, and Montgomery, also known as the Fugazi Bank Building, which exists today as San Francisco Landmark #52. Before 1914, a third story was added. In addition, the building was extended northward and later the cupola was removed. It housed the Bank of America and Transamerica Corporation. Columbus Savings Bank Building, (Built 1905, also known as Columbia Savings Bank, San Francisco Landmark #212) at center, Montgomery Block at right. Outbound Presidio & Ferries Streetcar #26 in distance.
