from: Tony Arioli Califtony707@aol.com message: This image was taken in either 1960 or 1961 - the large rectangular building to the lower right of the Ferry Building Tower and to the lower left of the SP sign was completed in the former year (1960). Also, the Embarcadero Freeway looks to be in a state of completion - it was under construction along the Embarcadero in 1958, and was completed in May, 1959.
