Golden Gate International Exposition, Treasure Island. This is "Art Forms of the Pacific" painted by Miguel Covarrubius on display in the Pacific Building. It was part of a series called "Pageant of the Pacific," six maps that showcased the social, cultural and scientific interests of the region. After the Expo, the murals were loaned to the Museum of Natural History in New York. This map was missing when they were returned in 1959 and hasn't been seen since.
