1906 Earthquake and Fire, 827 Hyde between Sutter and Bush, Pacific Telephone Exchange Building, the only known pre-fire building in this district. In 1919 it was the location of the Franklin exchange; pre-fire it was the East Exchange. fire-gutted Pacific Telephone Co. building
