1906 Earthquake and Fire, view northeast from near California and Taylor. Post-earthquake and fire view of ruined A.N. Towne Mansion, unrestored Flood Mansion, refurbished Fairmont Hotel. Columned entryway at left moved to Lloyd Lake in Golden Gate Park in 1909 and named Portals of the Past. In distance at right is the San Francisco Institute of Art (Formerly the Mark Hopkins Institute of Art) building, opened in 1907, and later replaced by the Mark Hopkins Hotel.
