1906 Earthquake and Fire, View east to Nob Hill from east of Van Ness and Fern Ave. Citizens National Bank was on the southwest corner of Polk and Fern. It reopened within one week of the fire and used its gutted brick building as a temporary measure. Bush (left) and Sutter (right) extend eastward. Fairmont Hotel on left, tops of buildings in Union Square area and Call Building on right. Edge of Sutter St. Railroad Co.'s ruined Powerhouse on far right.
