Backyard gardener, looking northeast from about Goettingen Street. Cleared land for Bayshore Freeway in background. Mt. St. Joseph's Orphanage on the tree-lined hill in background. Kroehler Manufacturing Building at right still stands at 1485 Bayshore Blvd. (27 Brussells Street at right. Gas storage tanks in distance at Cesar Chavez (then Army) and Evans, and at Pennsylvania near 23rd were later removed.
