Ewing Field

View south from the grandstand at Ewing Field, now the site of Ewing Terrace, toward Turk St. Built for the San Francisco Seals baseball team, it opened May 16, 1914. The building at center, built as Presentation Convent in 1912, still stands in 2021 (without the cupola) at Turk and Masonic. Trees of Calvary Cemetery at left across Masonic Avenue. A sign in left field reads 'Ten Dollars Reward for the arrest and conviction of cushion throwers'
