View northwest across Bush between Sansome and Montgomery, The Mercantile Library Building at center, built in 1867-68, sold in late 1889 to the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Co, then remodeled as their headquarters. Brooklyn Hotel at 210 Bush at right. Businesses visible include O.W. Nordwell merchant tailor and Brooklyn Hotel Bar. Sign on 214 Bush which reads 'George W Shreve moved to 525 Kearny' dates this 1887
