Ferry Building

View east across Embarcadero to original Ferry Building decorated with American flags, anchor insignia. Only horsecars. A wooden clock tower was added to the building after its opening in September, 1875, and was completed in January, 1877. This may be the decorating done for the arrival of General (and former U.S. President) Ulysses S. Grant in September 1879.
