"Through the efforts of Supervisor A. H. Giannini, one of the members of the street committee of the board, the Geary street crossing at Van Ness avenue is being repaired. This crossing has long been the bugbear of motorists using Van Ness avenue, and despite frequent appeals to have the section between the car tracks repaved, nothing was done until Supervisor Giannini took hold. As a result a gang of laborers started work yesterday morning in making the long needed repairs." ("Lee Wins Fight For More Cars," SF Call, 2/15/1912, 11)
